Currently, the Stetson ACM chapter is mainly
comprised of Stetson students from Computer Science (CS), Digital Arts
(DA), and Computer Information Systems (CIS). We hope to increase
diversity in our student chapter here at Stetson. By diversity we do
not only mean ethnic diversity but also academic diversity.
"Computer
Science (by itself) is boring" - Wayne Staats, Fall 2000. One
of our professors at Stetson made this statement walking into class after
going to a conference the previous week. By saying this he means
that incorporating CS with other disciplines opens up new doors of
Discovery and Imagination.
By this same premise, the students of our chapter believe that by
having students of various disciplines enriches our chapter with new
dimensions of ideas (and coolness, of course!). so, we invite any
Stetson student, from any major, from any class, to come and see what the
ACM is about. Check out the membership page for more information!
